Mayor John E. McCormac Welcomes Senior Residents to Red Oak Manor
Mayor John E. McCormac welcomed 60 new residents to Red Oak Manor – the Township’s newest Senior Housing Community located adjacent to the Sycamore Senior Center in Sewaren. “The Grand Opening of the Red Oak Manor residential community stands as an incredible day for the residents of the former Stern Towers as they left the oldest housing complex in town to the newest residential community in Woodbridge,” said Mayor John E. McCormac. “Red Oak Manor represents yet another step in our efforts to replace older residential communities with new, modern facilities. The demand for affordable housing for seniors is tremendous and we keep looking for locations where more can be built. With the Sycamore Senior Center right next door, and with our senior bussing program up and running, the Red Oak complex will be an amazing place for our seniors to live.” Red Oak Manor replaced the 55 year-old Stern Towers, a Woodbridge Housing Authority building which opened in downtown Woodbridge in 1964.
