FIREWORKS OVER THE WOODBRIDGE WATERFRONT!!! CELEBRATE AN EVENING DEDICATED TO AMERICA!!!

The Woodbridge Township Independence Day Fireworks “BLAST-OFF” on Wed., July 3 from Alvin P. Williams Memorial Park on the Sewaren waterfront. The Independence Day festivities kick-off with live music by AM GOLD YACHT ROCK PARTY - with Special Guests KICKBACK - followed by the incredible “BRINGING THE NIGHT TO LIFE” fireworks display choreographed to music. Alvin P. Williams Park will be closed during the day to allow for the fireworks set-up… Gates Open at 4:00 PM. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnics are encouraged. There is no reserved seating and no alcoholic beverages are permitted in the park. Mayor’s Summer Concerts… On Stage This Week…

|
The Mayor’s Summer Concert Series returns to the stage on Monday (July 1) with The Fabulous Greaseband. Tribute Band Tuesday performs on Tuesday (July 2) with Best of the Eagles. Concerts start at 7:30 PM on the grass field behind Woodbridge High School.

Country Sunday returns to the Parker Press stage on Sunday (July7) at 6:00 PM with Parrot Beach (Jimmy Buffet Tribute). Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the FREE concerts with family and friends! The cost of admission to the Mayor’s Summer Concert is a can, or two, or three of non-perishable food for the We Feed Woodbridge Food Bank. The Avenel Performing Arts Center (APAC) - the region’s newest performing arts center specially designed for theatre, stage productions and special performances - rolled-out the Red Carpet and welcomed theatre-goers with a Grand Opening Reception. The APAC features seating for 200 patrons, a separate performance room and pre-function lobby area that opens to exterior space for larger gatherings and events. Woodbridge is on the run... for pizza! The Mayor's Wellness Campaign, The Club at Woodbridge and Wegmans sponsor the annual Woodbridge Run for Pizza on Wed., July 10. Sign-up today for the 4-mile run thru Alvin P. Williams Park and the Sewaren waterfront. Celebrate at the finish line with pizza provided by local restaurants. Prizes awarded to the top three overall female and male runners and the top three male and female runners in each age group. Pre-registration: $25.00 ($20.00 USATF-NJ members). Race Day Registration: $30.00. Corporate and Team Entries welcome! Run for Pizza is a USATF New Jersey 500 Point Event. Proceeds benefit the Mayor’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports. See you at the finish line! After the run head over to Tanzman Park (across from the NJT Train Station) for the Local Band Thursday concert at 7:30 PM.

Barron Arts Center Flea Market Returns on Sat., July 13

The Barron Arts Center will host their annual outdoor Flea Market on Sat., July 13 from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM at Parker Press Park (400 Rahway Avenue.) Explore the vendors and get great deals on toys, books, household items and much more! Food sales will also be available the day of the flea market to support The Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission as well as the free programming at The Barron Arts Center throughout the year.

For five days this summer (July 19, 20, 21, 26 & 27) the Theatre at Woodbridge High School will be the center of Theater Arts in central New Jersey with the performance of CABARET by an incredibly talented group of Woodbridge actors, actresses and supporting cast. CABARET is set in a Berlin nightclub as the 1920’s draw to a close – the garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the CABARET. CABARET explores the dark, heady and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken by English singer Sally Bowles. The Club is the perfect complement to the Woodbridge Community Center (WCC) right across Main Street. Both facilities have a pool, running track, cardio rooms, weight rooms, concession areas and child care functions. Both run summer camps for kids and personal training and other amenities. Explore the ponds, wetlands, forest, fields and butterfly garden which host a myriad of plant and wildlife species. Walks in the Woodbridge Wild are sponsored by M&T Bank and Bayshore Recycling.
