Interfaith Memorial Service Set for Tues., Sept. 11

September 11, 2018 stands as the 17th Anniversary of the “Attack on America.” On that fateful day in 2001, nine Woodbridge Township residents fell victim... never to return to their families: Cmdr. Patrick S. Dunn, Edward Allegretto, Marlyn Bautista, John Adam Larson, James Lynch, Charles Mauro, Tonyell McDay, Narender Nath, and Saukara Velamuri.

 The Remembrance Memorial at Woodbridge Town Hall stands as a tribute to the residents who perished in the September 11, 2001 Attack on America.

On Tues., Sept. 11, 2018, the Office of the Mayor, the Municipal Council, the Woodbridge Interfaith Clergy Council and representatives from the Woodbridge Township First Response community will host: “A Township Remembers: An Interfaith Memorial Service.” The Interfaith Memorial Service will be held outside Town Hall (One Main Street) at the Township 9/11 Memorial Park at 6:00 PM. Plan to attend to recognize the sacrifice of the nine Township residents who perished in the attack and to honor our emergency service providers who respond to crisis - not just in time of disaster, but every day in every way

Let The Games Begin!!!! The New Jersey Senior Olympic games get underway with the “Pomp & Circumstance” of Opening Ceremonies on Saturday at 10:00 AM outside the Woodbridge Community Center. This is the 12th consecutive year that Woodbridge Township has welcomed the statewide New Jersey Senior Olympic competition and more than 1,200 Senior athletes from across the state have registered to compete in the three-day Olympic competition.

The Mayor’s Summer Concert Finale’ features the Charlie Hunter Trio on Friday (Sept. 14) LIVE from the Friday Jazz concert stage at Mayor Frank Pelzman Park in Avenel. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the FREE concert with family and friends. Admission to the Mayor’s Summer Concert is a can, or two, or three of non-perishable food for the We Feed Woodbridge Food Bank. Bitting Brewing Company of Woodbridge, the Central Jersey BeerFest is bigger and better than ever - with more New Jersey breweries offering specialty brews, live music and entertainment, food vendors, and a whole lot more. Admission for the festival is $30.00 for adult “beer samplers” and $15 for “non-beer samplers.” Children under 12 are free.
