BarronFest Art & Craft Festival Open All-Day on Saturday


The BarronFest Arts & Crafts Festival returns to Parker Press Park on Saturday.  BarronFest - sponsored by Mayor John E. McCormac, the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission and the Barron Arts Center - features over 50 local artisans, crafters and vendors.  Stroll the BarronFest booths and displays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Food and other refreshments are available for purchase as a fundraiser for the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission. ALTERNATE RAIN LOCATION! In case of inclement weather, BarronFest 2017 will be moved INDOORS to St. Anthony of Padua Hall, 436 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading.

WOODbridge Stock Concerts Take the Stage on Saturday


Join Mayor Mac and the best local bands in the region – Seven Stone, Shaman, Dead Cowboys and Blame it on Richie – when WOODbridge Stock invades Tanzman Park for an all-day “rock-out” in the final outdoor music festival of the season.  Bands begin at Noon from Tanzman Park (across from the Downtown Woodbridge Train Station).  Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the FREE concerts with family and friends!!!

Plan to join Mayor John E. McCormac, Councilman Cory Spillar (3rd Ward) and Port Reading residents and neighbors at the annual Port Reading Day festival and picnic on Saturday (Oct. 14).  Port Reading Day gets underway at Noon at Port Reading School #9.  Enjoy a FREE picnic, games, music, arts and crafts, and the Port Reading community spirit.  Please bring a can… or two… or three of non-perishable food for donation to “We Feed Woodbridge” which supports Woodbridge Township food banks and food pantries.

Haunted Halloween” Invades Woodbridge with a ‘Spooktacular’ Line-Up of Events!!


Woodbridge Township is under the spell of “Haunted Halloween” with special Township-wide “Spooktacular” events to celebrate the annual recognition of “All Hollows Eve.”  This Halloween, the Department of Recreation is hosting an incredible line-up of “Spooktacular” events that are not to be missed!!!  


Haunted Woodbridge Opens with: “Dead or Alive on Stage” - A Halloween, Ghost & Zombie performance curiously presented on Fri., Oct. 13 by the European School of Dance and the Woodbridge Township Department of Recreation...  LIVE, On-Stage at the Theatre at Woodbridge Middle School, 525 Barron Ave.  Doors Open at 8:00 PM. Show at 9:00 PM.  Tickets:  $10.00.  (Not recommended for scaredy cats).

The Woodbridge Public Library presents:  “Halloween Bash” on Tues., Oct. 17 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM at the Main Library Meeting Room.  It’s time to get ridiculously spooky!!!  Mysterious games, horrifying crafts, mouthwatering treats, and more!!!  Best costume wins a prize.  Open to grades 8-12.  

“Pumpkin Painting” returns to Parker Press Park on Wed., Oct. 18 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.  Pick out a “great” pumpkin and paint a Halloween masterpiece... and you get to take the pumpkin home!!!  It’s “Stuff Your Own Scarecrow” on Thurs., Oct. 19 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Parker Press Park.  We supply the hay... you bring some old clothes and create your own take-home scarecrow.

Woodbridge Haunted Ghost Tours & Zombie Walk take-over Main Street on Sat., Oct. 21!!!  Zombie Walk leaves from the (some say haunted) School District Administration Building, 428 School Street, at 5:00 PM and ends at Parker Press Park.  Haunted Ghost Tours begin at 6:30 PM from Parker Press Park.  Tours depart every 15 minutes.  Tickets:  $8.00.  For more information follow on FaceBook at Woodbridge Ghost Walk, www.hauntedhistoryproductions.com or call 732-596-4048. (All proceeds benefit local charitable organizations and causes.)  The Recreation Department’s Halloween 

Trunk-or-Treat & Costume Contest” returns to the Woodbridge Community Center (WCC), 600 Main Street, on Sun., Oct. 22 from 1:30 – 3:30 PM.  Show off your Halloween costume while “Trunk-or-Treating.”  Prizes for funniest, scariest and most original costume.  “Trunk-or-Treaters” must pre-register to hand out candy.  The Recreation Department will not accept any walk-ups.  Participants will receive a Registration Certificate that must be presented upon arrival at the WCC.  To Register:  RecreationDepartment@twp.woodbridge.nj.us.  And, stick around for the Halloween Drive-In Movie – “Hotel Transylvania” showing at dusk in the WCC parking lot.  The “Haunted Halloween Hay Ride & Family Fun Festival” is set for Thurs., Oct. 26 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Parker Press Park.  But, Beware of the Ghosts & Goblins along the way!!!


Woodbridge Halloween fun continues with the Woodbridge High School Choirs’ 20th Annual “Haunted House & Halloween Festival” (proceeds benefit the WHS Choir) on Sat., Oct. 21 & 28.  Experience your worst “Fears, Phobias & Superstitions” at the “Haunted House” – located in a vacant store next to Crunch Gym across from Woodbridge High School.  “Happy Haunted House” (lights on) for youngsters is open from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.  The real scary “Haunted House” is open from 8:00 to 10:00 P.M.  Tickets:  $8.00 in advance; $10.00 at Door.

Explore the Mayor’s Health Expo on Sat., Oct.  21


The Woodbridge Department of Health & Human Services and the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign host the annual  Mayor’s Health Expo on Sat., Oct. 21,  2017 from 9:00 AM to Noon at the Woodbridge Health Center (2 George Frederick Plaza.)  Plan to stop by the Health Expo for FREE or reduced-cost health screening tests which help monitor medical conditions and provide vital patient-care information.  Seasonal flu shots are available (FREE to Medicare patients; $15.00 for non-Medicare).  Health Expo visitors will find information on health-related topics including Social Security, Medicare, pharmacy assistance, substance abuse, domestic violence, and more.  Area health care providers and medical assistance agencies will be on-hand to provide information on health-care products, services and programs. Free cooking demonstrations by Wegmans target healthy diet and menu selections.

Public Works Announces FREE Leaf Bag Distribution

The Fall “Bagged Leaf” collection program is now underway… Check out the Public Works schedule to find out where to pick-up FREE leaf bags.  To collect leaves more efficiently the Township requires that residents bag leaves in biodegradable paper leaf bags only – plastic bags cannot be used  The biodegradable paper leaf bags are designated for “Leaves Only” and are to be used only while the leaf collection program is in effect.  The Township distributes paper leaf bags to residents FREE of charge and are available at the Public Works Recycling Center located on Smith Street in Keasbey.  Check the Township web page at www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us. or call the Recycling Hotline at 732-738-1311 x3049 for more information on the “bagged leaf” collection program.
