Independence Day Fireworks Blast Off July 3

KABOOM!!!!                                                                                                                                                   FIREWORKS OVER THE WOODBRIDGE WATERFRONT!!!  CELEBRATE AMERICA & HER HEROS!!!            
MON., JULY 3 AT ALVIN P. WILLIAMS MEMORIAL PARK ON THE SEWAREN WATERFRONT.                                                    

The annual Woodbridge Township Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks get underway on Mon., July 3, 2017 when gates open at 4:00 PM at Alvin P. Williams Memorial Park on the Sewaren waterfront.  The Independence Day festivities kick-off with live music by the City Hicks at 5:00 PM followed by AM GOLD at 8:00 PM.  Mayor McCormac and Township officials will recognize Woodbridge Township military veterans who served overseas in the various Middle East conflicts at 7:00 PM.  The incredible "Bringing the Night to Life" fireworks display choreographed to music “blasts-off” at dusk.  Lawn chairs, blankets and picnics are encouraged.  There is no reserved seating and no alcoholic beverages are permitted in the park. Mayor’s Summer Concert Series Returns to the Woodbridge Wednesday Stage

The Mayor’s Summer Concert Series returns to the Woodbridge Wednesday stage on July 5 with “LIZ VICE” on the Parker Press Park stage at 7:30 PM.  Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the FREE concert with family and friends!  Local Band Thursday “rocks” with “GOOD TO GO” on Thurs., July 6 from the Tanzman Park stage (across from the Downtown Woodbridge Train Station) at 7:30 PM.  “WESTERN CENTURIES” perform on the Country Sunday stage at Parker Press stage on Sun., July 9 at 6:00 PM.  The cost of admission to the Mayor’s Summer Concert’s is a can, or two, or three of non-perishable food for the “We Feed Woodbridge Food Bank.”  Check out the full Mayor Summer Concert  line-up on the Township Web Page at: www.twp.woodbridge.nj.u


Pizza Run Starting Gun Thurs., July 6...  Sign-Up Today!!!

Woodbridge is on the run... for pizza! The Mayor's Wellness Campaign, The Club at Woodbridge and Wegmans sponsor the annual Woodbridge Run for Pizza on Thurs., July 6.  Sign-up today for the 4-mile run thru Alvin P. Williams Park and the Sewaren waterfront.  Celebrate at the finish line with pizza provided by local restaurants. Prizes awarded to the top three overall female and male runners and top three male and female runners in each age group.  Register before July 4 for only $25.00.  Race Day Registration: $30.00.  Corporate and Team Entries welcome! Run for Pizza is a USATF New Jersey 500 Point Event.  Proceeds benefit the Mayor’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports.  See you at the finish line! After the run head over to Tanzman Park (across from the NJT Train Station) for the Local Band Thursday concert – Good to Go - at 7:30 PM.

WCP Present:  “WEST SIDE STORY” July 21-29

For five days this summer (July 21, 22, 23, 28 & 29) The Theatre at Woodbridge Middle School (525 Barron Ave.) will be the center of Theater Arts in central New Jersey with the performance of “WEST SIDE STORY” by an incredibly talented group of young Woodbridge actors, actresses and supporting staff.  Young lovers are caught between prejudice and warring street gangs in this seminal retelling of Romeo and Juliet.  From the first notes to the final breath, “WEST SIDE STORY” is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. Arthur Laurents' book remains as powerful, poignant and timely as ever. The score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is widely regarded as one of the best ever written.
