Mayor McCormac Reports on “State-Of-The-Township"

State of the Township Header

The Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce hosted the 10th Annual “State-Of-The-Township” where Mayor John E. McCormac reported that the “State-of-the-Township” is strong – perhaps the strongest ever and getting stronger all the time.  The stability of the Township economy results from our successful navigation of the steadily rebounding national, regional, state and local economy.  Over the past several years, the Township recognized that long-term economic planning and business incentives, combined with significant efforts to control the cost of municipal government (while maintaining a consistent level of services and programs) was key to a strong economic future – an economic future that will continue to benefit Township residents, business and industry in coming years.

Highlights of the  State-of-the-Township address included the announcement of a Peer Recovery program in the Department of Health & Human Services to address and assist those suffering the disease of Opioid and heroin addiction.  We are working with the Board of Education on a March Referendum that will provide educational facilities to accommodate district-wide full-day Kindergarten, upgraded technology for computers, laptop and notebook devices, additional classroom, art, music, SGI instructional space and science labs, much-needed security upgrades in all schools, and the construction of a new Ross Street School #11 and improvements to Woodbridge Middle School.

As part of the “State-Of-The-Township” address, TV-35 produced a video that highlights ten years of successful economic development and “Quality-of-Life” initiatives.  Visit the Township web page at: www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us to view the “State-of-the-Township.”
