WOODBRIDGE MAYOR JOHN E. McCORMAC HOSTS ANNUAL TOWNSHIP-WIDE SENIOR SUMMIT
Senior Residents Focus Discussion on Public Services Programs & Information
[Woodbridge] Mayor John E. McCormac and the Department of Senior Services welcomed senior residents from throughout Woodbridge Township to the Annual
Mayor’s Senior Summit & Older Adults Expo where senior residents have the opportunity to explore the myriad of services and programs, offer suggestions,
comments and ideas directly to the Administration, members of the Municipal Council and Senior program representatives.
The Woodbridge Township Department of Senior Services, Division on Aging, and the six Senior Centers - Evergreen Senior Center (Colonia), Sycamore Senior Center (Port Reading), Five Branches Senior Center (Colonia-Iselin), Hickory Senior Center (Fords), Maple Tree Senior Center (Avenel) and Oak Tree Senior Center (Iselin) - partnered with the Departments of Health & Human Services, Recreation & Resident Services, Public Works & Parks, Woodbridge Police Department, Woodbridge Township Public Library, Barron Arts Center, and the many Woodbridge businesses, financial service agencies, medical care facilities, Senior organizations and associations.
“The Senior residents attending the Senior Summit were aware of the available Township-sponsored services and programs and, more importantly, expressed opinions about what they feel the Township should provide in the way of services and programs. The Mayor’s Office and staff were impressed with the opinions, suggestions and ideas offered on how to address Township-wide issues, along with an understanding of what needs to be done to improve the ‘Quality of Life’ for everyone,” Mayor McCormac said.
